HTC has launched the Vive Eagle AI smart glasses, integrating AI, photography, and translation into a wearable device. Weighing under 49 grams, these glasses feature a minimalist design with Zeiss lenses, adjustable nose pads, and open-ear audio. The open-ear system delivers spatial sound while maintaining awareness of surroundings.

Equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, the Vive Eagle allows for hands-free photo and video capture via voice commands. HTC's Vive AI assistant, compatible with Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT, enables users to take notes, set reminders, and translate languages. The glasses support real-time translation in 13 languages. Powered by a 235mAh battery, the Vive Eagle offers up to 36 hours of standby time and 4.5 hours of music playback. Magnetic fast charging provides 50% power in 10 minutes.

Priced at NT$15,600, the Vive Eagle is available in Berry, Black, Coffee, and Grey. Initially available in Taiwan, pre-orders are open until August 31, with sales starting September 1. HTC emphasises user privacy, storing all data locally and securing it with AES-256 encryption. A built-in LED indicates when the camera is in use, and recording automatically stops if the glasses are removed or the LED is blocked.
