Grok's latest AI model, Grok 4, has significantly boosted revenue, overshadowing the impact of its AI companions. The launch of Grok 4 saw a 325% increase in gross revenue on iOS, reaching $419,000. Daily downloads also surged by 279%, demonstrating strong user interest.
The introduction of AI companions initially drove installs, but Grok 4 remains the primary revenue driver. The company's new subscription offering, SuperGrok Heavy, is priced at $300 per month and provides early access to Grok 4 Heavy and other features.
Grok 4 has improved Grok's ranking in the U.S. App Store, reaching No. 3 overall and No. 2 in the Productivity category. Grok 4 is considered to be one of the most advanced chatbots, outperforming Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro and OpenAI's o3 models on industry tests.
