RealSense, a company specialising in stereoscopic imaging technology, has completed its spinout from Intel. The company secured $50 million in funding to scale its operations within the robotics sector. RealSense develops cameras that enable machines and devices to perceive the world in three dimensions, allowing them to interpret their surroundings and interact with their environment.
Backed by Intel Capital, the MediaTek Innovation Fund, and other investors, RealSense aims to capitalise on the increasing demand for computer vision sensors. These sensors are crucial for robots to navigate and understand complex environments. The funding will be used to expand manufacturing and global market efforts.
RealSense plans to broaden its AI-powered computer vision solutions, including innovations in stereo vision, robotics, and biometrics AI software and hardware. The company's technology is used in various applications, including robotics, automation, and healthcare.
