Czech online grocer Rohlik Group has launched Veloq, an AI-driven platform designed to optimise and automate grocery delivery. Veloq, a spin-off from Rohlik, aims to provide grocers worldwide with technology to meet demands for speed and freshness. The platform incorporates automated picking, intelligent routing, inventory forecasting, and customer engagement features. Veloq's AI engine manages warehouse operations, supply chains, and last-mile logistics.
Richard McKenzie, formerly of Ocado, will lead Veloq's global expansion. Veloq targets large grocery companies, offering strategic partnerships, custom fulfilment centre design, and operational support. Rohlik, founded in 2014, has grown to manage over 1.3 million monthly orders and generates €1.1 billion in annual revenue across five markets. Veloq aims to solve industry challenges related to scaling same-day delivery without increasing waste or reducing product variety, setting itself up to compete with Ocado and Tesco's Transcend.
Rohlik's success is attributed to its technology, which enables the company to move items from shelf to dispatch in 12 minutes. Veloq's primary sales focus is North America and Europe, offering an alternative to in-store picking and modular solutions that lack interoperability.
