ChatGPT Ditches Sycophantic Update

The company is actively testing fixes and revising its feedback mechanisms to prioritise long-term user satisfaction. Future plans include refining core training techniques to steer models away from sycophancy, implementing stricter guardrails for honesty and transparency, and expanding user testing and feedback opportunities before deployment. OpenAI also aims to provide users with greater control over ChatGPT's behaviour through customisable settings.
